Dogs are "ready" to breed about two weeks after they go into estrus.
I don't know how long you would have to wait for the vet to be able to tell you anything. Considering the fact that the average pregnancy for a dog is between 57 and 63 days, though, I can't imagine it would take too long. Your best bet is to just call your vet and ask.
