QuestionHi! I have a blue pit-bull she is about 8 weeks I bought her when she was a month old. I took her to the vet when I got her to get her shot and they informed me that she had hook worms. So she have been deworm and we went back to the vet and they gave her some antibiotics because her poop was still water looking. I gave it to her as I was told and it did not help. I feed her Nutro Max puppy food mixed with a half of can of Nutro Max can food. She it find but everything comes out like water. Do anybody no what I can do to help her. Thank You
AnswerHi Keishia: Make sure they wormed her for the right kind of worm..
If they have, she may need to be wormed again. Many times it takes 2-3 treatments to get rid of the worms.
Next, let's make some changes in her diet:
1. You can keep her on the Nutro Max puppy food - DRY only ( no wet food...)
2. Give her 1/4 cup of yogurt per day - The ACTIVA brand with the active cultures in it. Do this every day for 1 month. Later on, do it every other day....Excellent for the dog or pup's gut.
3. Give her some Pumpkin ( pure canned pumpkin) - 1/8 cup 1-2 x per day just for 5 days... Then, you can cut her down to 1/8 cup or less 1 x per day-
Canned pumpkin will get the stools to become more solid and formed..
Not so much water in the poops......

Ok, I hope this helps... Wet food is fine in the future...( small amounts) Right now wet food will only make the poops too soft. So, that is why I want you to stop the wet food..
