Question
Hi, I just lost my best friend ( rescued pit mix male) of 10 years. He was my first dog and I learned a lot but I wish I knew more when he was with me. Buster had a skin problem and I always thought it was fleas or the shampoo. But I just rescued a 10 month yr old female Pit Boxer mix, I live at my moms house and her cats have fleas, we bombed and dipped and used frontline, cant get rid of them, The female, Lola, has no fleas (that i see). but she has hives, same hives Buster had. she is so uncomfortable, I used medicated shampoo and Benedryl 1, 25 mg.. it stops the itch for a bit, but I want to get rid of the hives, I think it might be the food. I read your suggestions and will give them a shot. what else can I do?

Answer
Hi Jen - sorry you lost your best friend, Buster.
Yes, I have some help for your new girl.
Please put her on a grain free formula like Innova Evo or Wellness CORE... ( must be EVO or Core...)
YOU can mix her old food and the new food  50/50 mix for 2 -3 weeks.  Then, please go to 100% the new food.  No treats unless they are the Innova Evo treats.

Next - Please feed her some yogurt ( ACTIVIA brand) - give her 1 cup of this brand x 5 days.  It will help with any yeast in her gut.

Garlic - pure garlic powder / give her 1/4 of a teaspoon per day mixed into her food.

*** Last - NuVET Plus is a must for this kid... NuVET wafers are a treat that is an Immune System Booster and Skin Healer.
Helps to control allergies and hives.

Give her 2 per day ----- It will cost you about 1.10 per day for the NuVET Plus treatments.  It will also help her to avoid other troubles like knee ( patella) and joint problems. ( arthritis)
NuVET will help her to build up the immune system to fight off the allergies that may hit her.

Call Joan tomorrow - here is the number to order:
GIVE ORDER CODE 81098 - this is a VET and Breeder's code / they can't sell to the public without this code.

I look forward to working with you and your new girl.

Talk to you soon!
Please give me a report weekly if you would like.

Oh, you can also get some Oatmeal Shampoo ( for dogs) and give her a bath 1 x per week, if needed for relief.
