sea water

Can ocean water irritate my lab's intestines? He swims in the ocean about 3 times a week. Lately he has been having bowel problems. He was in the hospital last week. His intestines were swollen and he had diarreah and vomiting. He was ok after an IV an meds. I waited a week and took him again. He now has the same symptoms. He has been swimming in the ocean for three years now and this is the first time he has this problem. When he swalows the water, he will then have bowel movemenets and drink lots of water to flush himself. He has been fine till lately. HE loves to swim! I would hate to have him not go!! Could his problem be the sea water or another  not related problem.

I think tht he has probebly formed an alergy to the salt water, but i cant be totally sure, it may because he is swallowing so much water I dont really know, i think the best thing for you to do is ask your doctor, becuase it may be something in the water or as i said he's formed an allergic reaction to the water. Please tell me how it goes,
