Question
Our Lab is 13 yrs old. She never leaves the yard and she has disappered with out a trace in less than 30 min. We live in the woods, and do not believe anyone has taken her.
We have searched the surrounding area's with her not to be found. My question is ...is it a labs nature to go off by their self to die? She doesnt like being outside longer than to go to the bathroom. She has been a house dog for 13 yrs, and has always been loved and cherished and treated like a queen. We are at a great loss and need to know .

Answer
There are those that say dogs go off by themselves to die.  There are many stories like yours.  I think it is possible it is something else.  I have a 13 year old Lab, and she has shown some signs of being confused and getting lost.  When I take her out off lead, I have to keep a constant eye on her to keep her from wandering off.

You may never know what happened.  I would keep searching.
