hi my 5 month old lab does not eat the recommended amount of food per day he will leave  about 1 to 2 oz of the food per day  he seem heathy and play full i  just about  see his ribs and has a well defined waist when view from above but looks thin to me is it normal for a lab to be a picky eater he been picky since i got him at 9 weeks the vet think he will grow out of it i though lab were food dustbin

Most Labs are the opposite from yours, eating more than they need, and looking for more.  As long as you are feeding a meat based food and the ribs don't show much, don't worry about it.  I once had one like that too.  

It might be a good idea to change over to an adult chow now.  Along with him keeping himself lean, that will slow growth, giving more time to develop sturdy joints.
