Desexing my girl puppy

Hello Labman, just writting to ask a question about getting my puppy desexed she is almost 5 months old I have been told not to get her done before six months of age as it could increase the possibility of her getting hip problems could you help me and also give me some advice on helping her heal after the operation.

The term spay is usually used with female dogs.  Let me assure you, there is no danger of hip problems if a dog is spayed before 6 months.  Please don't pay any attention to wherever you heard that.  Six months is fine though, although waiting any longer risks her coming into season and all the hassles and risks of waiting until it is over.  I would go ahead and schedule it as soon as it works for you and your vet.
