chocolate eating WAY too fast

Question
I am going to try putting his food on a cookie sheet tonight. To try to slow him down. I heard that their stomachs can flip if they eat so fast. Is that true?

Answer
While bloat does happen with deep chested dogs, labs included, it doesn't happen as often as it does in other breeds.  The cookie sheet will help.  You can also wet the food down...about 1/2 hour before mealtime, soak the kibbles with warm water.  If you feed in a big bowl, you can also place a can in the middle and let the dog eat around the can.
