Pup in swimming pool

Hi Jen - was wondering if it's ok for our chocolate lab - he's 19 month old - to go swimming in our above ground pool every day?  Is it ok for his coat?  How long should we allow him in the pool?  Do recommend a life jacket?

Daily swimming is fine. It's great exercise.  Chlorine and sun could bleach his coat, but it's not harmful...just might affect the COLOR.  There's no time limit for how long to let them swim.  If the dog has an easy access in/out of the pool where he can go if he gets tired, then I don't think a life jacket is necessary.  But if he's reliant on you taking him out, it might be a good idea.
