Adult Male JR Crate Anxiety

Question
Our seven year old male JR doesn't want to go into his crate at night. We have an 11 year old female and they are in the same room together.  He started pulling his cover blanket into the crate and became more and more aggressive with the pulling, so we removed it. Now he won't take his treat when we put him in and cries and cries so much our other dog can't rest.  We tried moving his crate, getting a new crate, leaving the door open and closing the room door, EVERYTHING and no luck.  We know of no upsetting situations that have happened to cause this behavior.  Had the vet check him out to make sure he was feeling OK.  He eats and acts just like he always has during the day and evening, this starts when it is time to get into his crate for bedtime. He get plenty of exercise and goes to doggie day care twice a week. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer
the only thing I can think of is you have been absent more lately...the dog in this case would be missing you and wants to spend every minute possible with you and going to sleep in a crate with his roomate beside him just isnt cutting it, you can try spending more time with him during the day a nice game of fetch or a long walk in the evening before bed mgiht help, also be sure to leave a ngiht light on in the room or that there is natural light coming into the room you can also leave a radio on on low perferbily on a talk staion. Try getting him a new soft toy to cuddle with at night or different crate bedding. I haev never had a dog sleep in a crate at night and am not all that sure how well crating works but I guess it went well for you for 11 years! try the tips i mentioned and they should help.
