great dane pain

we have a 6 year old great dane who suffered a broken hip at the age of 6 mo.  He is now taking deramaxx 100mg daily for relief.  I gave him his last dose yesterday, and the vet was closed today for the holiday.  He fell on a patch of ice on the road, and because he already has weakness and some pain in his hip, his leg keeps giving out on him.  I gave him 3 aspirin 325 mg tonight, until I can get to vets tomorrow. Can i give him a vicaden or darvocet to help him sleep through the night?

Sorry, we don't have those trade names in the UK.  Doesn't your vet have an out-of-hours service as we do over here?

We use a paracetamol based pain relief in an emergency.  We find a product called Rimadyl very effective but you need a prescription to buy it over the internet.
