Question
My 18 month old golden has areas on the upper part of her back legs where the fur is much shorter than the fur on the rest of her body,  there is no sign of chewing or irritation. It appears only the light fluffy part of the coat is missing.  Is this a result of shedding, or should i consult a vet. Thanks for your help.

Answer
I can't think what, but something may have rubbed some of her hair off.  Keep an eye on the places.  If her hair was damaged somehow, it may not recover until her fall coat comes in.  If you happen to be at the vet for something else, you might ask about it.

I don't see any problem unless you were going to show her.  Still, it is a good idea to catch such things.
