spaying

just bought our first golden retriver and she's fine, we would like her spayed but a little worried as we had our labrador spayed and she has died of muliple tumours, my question is can this be linked to the operation that she had?

I very much doubt spaying had anything to do with your lab's tumors.  Did you have her spayed late in life and perhaps the tumors coincidentally occurred around that time?

Most schools of thought feel that spaying actually helps prevent some types of tumors, such as mammary tumors, and most feel before the dog reaches 1 year old.
