Question
Is it ok to give a Golden Retriever popcorn?

Answer
A little popcorn shouldn't hurt.  Watch the salt.  After all, corn is a popular ingredient in dog chows.  Of course, the food kooks are highly negative about it, but I suspect many of them are selling more expensive chows.

Big thing is to not over do it.  Even if corn goes into many dog chows, so do a of of other things.  Corn alone is nowhere the complete and balanced diet dogs need.  So yes, if you fix yourself a bowl of popcorn, give it a few kernels.

Keep an eye on its waist.  See http://www.puppychow.com/products/popup_body_condition.aspx  Adjust its food and exercise to reach its ideal body condition, and it will have a longer, active life.
