Biting, adult weight

Question
Hi,

We purchased a german sheperd/doberman cross 2 days ago and would like to know if you could help us with any information on the best ways to stop her from biting and jumping up as I have a 6 year old daughter. Also could you help us with a rough idea of what the adult weight would be for this type of dog because depending on her adult weight depends on how much food we feed her every day.

I would appreciate any help on this and anything else you think we should know because this is the first time we have had a dog of this breed.

Thanks

Samantha

Answer
Hello Samantha,
You did not tell me the age now of the dog u adopted???
This cross will take alot of firm hand on raising into a super adult.  Firm in commands and giving alot of love at the right times, and firmness in giving loud commands of NO.

Weight can go from Shepherds are medium sized dogs males from 90 plus five and females 65 plus 5 lbs.  Dobes about the same so your dog might weigh out mature at 2 and half about 70 lbs.  Feeding depends also what kind of food and how u feed it. If a top of the line dry kibble should be about 3 cups a day dry with Brewers Yeast and Garlic tabs for good healthy skin, shiny coats and less shedding.  Vitamins of Omega fatty 3 acids for vitamins to complete the program for the dog.  I have found this to be a wonderful product for my dogs less shedding along with Bio Spot for fleas I have never ever seen a tick or flea.  I brush my dogs daily as often as possible running a pack of six with 8 pups now, well 3 have left to homes.

I would suggest good dry kibble as Pro Plan Chicken and Rice, Ekanuba, Science Diet, Solid Gold, Pedigree, One, etc.  along with Brewers Yeast and Garlic tabs, your dog should thrive with this diet.  Lots of fresh water, doggie biscuits no human food at all, only a RAW beed soup bone now and then to chew on as a great treat.

Be Frim in commands in teaching right from wrong so it grows up to be a great adult under full control by its Boss and Leader.  Teaching the simple word, NO.!! Loudly and firmly say it so it knows your unhappy.   Bond closely with this dog and love it but also teach it properly and it will serve u till it dies with its life to protect and love you.

Kind Regards
Patt
