biting and jumping

We have a 5 1/2 months old female German Sheperd. She is very smart and learns very quickly.She was spayed a few days ago. Since about 2 weeks, as soon as she sees my 5 year old son and 8 year old daugther she runs right to them, jumps up on them an starts to bite. I have also a 10 year old son which she does not bother. I really need some help, how can I make her stop this behavoir, we all love her and don't want to give her away.

Hi Margo,  Your dog is the same age mentally as your two children, so she is playing with them as if they were other puppies.  She needs to start obedience training so she understands where she stands in the household as far as the heirarchy of the family.   It is hard to explain how to stop her from playing biting the children, it is a lot easier to show a person.  A trainer could show you the procedure that you do to her to correct the problem.  I would call a trainer and setup training lessons for her right away while she is still young enough to imprint and correct the problems easily.  Hope this helps,
