10 month female puppy

My 10 month old female German shepherd puppy has recently had two  4 inch patches of hair fall out on the rear and front of her body.  The patches are not down to the skin, however they are where her coat is black, and now there are silver patches.  Is this normal, she has been shedding allot over the past couple of weeks.  She has had a great shinny coat up to this point.  Her diet consist of Pro Plan.

If she doesn't seem to be itching or anything. it could be normal.  German Shepherds are born all black.  By the time they are a month old, the have much of their color, but continue developing more until at least a year old.  I would see how it goes, and mention it to the vet when you are in for her one year check up, or sooner.  

It is unlikely it is the Pro Plan.  I see too many dogs (really, thousands) that are thriving on it.  The real world doesn't support all the allegations against commercial dog chow.
