Sheperds ear

My 4 month old German Sheperd right ear is still not up yet all the time.  His left ear was up all the time since he was 9 weeks old, it has never gone down even for a little while.  The right ear however will go up for maybe a day or so and then it goes down for about a week.  Sometimes when it goes up he shakes his head on purpose to get it to flip back down.  I have been giving him calcium supplements for about a month now and the ear is still the same.  My question is shoud I began tapping now.  He will be going to training at the end of the month for about a month, so he will be back in my care when he is almost 6 months old.  Should I wait till then?  Thank You

Hi Brandie,  You will want to wait until he is 6 months old before taping because the teeth are not completely in yet, so they are competing with the ears for the calcium.  Make sure whoever has him during that month gives him the calcium also.  Hope this helps,
