Walking my 13wk old gs

I recently read that you should only walk your german shepherd puppy for 20mins a day, I was just wondering if this was true or not as it seems such a short walk for a dog her size?

I think there are many rules based on speculation with limited experience to back them up.  I think you can walk the puppy longer than that, but not if you are maintaining a constant, brisk  pace.  Don't push the puppy, if it lags or stops, give it a break.  In some of my more ambitious walks, I have picked up the puppy and carried it.  At 13 weeks, yours may be getting a little big for that.  

Try to limit running and jumping or other high impact exercise too.
