Question
Hi, Thanks for your help!!!! My dog is two years old and keeps getting skin problems. Black spots on skin on under belly and by back legs. I treated at vet's with antibotics and the medicine to stop itching (pro?). He was treated for the third time in end of August and then treated with stronger antibotics 375 ml and 250ml(both 2x's a day)in the end of Sept. Then two weeks later he started to get scabs all over his body and is red and irrated under belly and by back legs. What should I do? My vet just keeps giving antibotics and it never takes care of the problem. Please help! Also, he gets Lyfe Lyne and Frontline for fleas. I live in Florida but, he is on a cement slab not in the dirt. Thanks for all your help and have a great day! Sonja Geller

Answer
Hi Sonja,  It sounds like he might have food allergies.  You can start trying different foods starting with one which has no wheat.  A lot of dogs with wheat allergies will get little scabs all over.  Basically switch over different foods checking ingredients.  Stay away from the grains as much as possible.  This can take some time though so be patient.  You should switch foods about every 4 weeks to give his system time to get all the old stuff out of it and also to give time for the scabs to heal completely.  This also gives you time to see if he is having anymore problems on whatever food you are feeding at the time.  Hope this helps,
