Question
Marjorie - I have a friend that wishes to have some good person take his one-year old Victorian Bulldog. However, the dog chews on wood and he gives the dog a board to chew on. Any way to ensure, if I take him, that he won't chew furniture?
Curt

Answer
No guarantees at all! Chances are he'll chew anything he can find if he's been allowed to do it.

Your best bet would be to crate him when you're not able to keep an eye on him. If you take the dog, get rid of the wood all together.  Give him hard toys to chew on or even knuckle bones from the butcher shop. This is nothing more than a bad habit that has been reinforced.
