Changing Food and Increase in Stools

Question
My english bulldog is almost one year old and I've been gradually changing her over to adult food. She was eating Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy Food and I tried to switch her to the Adult Bulldog Formula, but it really didn't agree with her stomach. I've been gradually switching her over to Science Diet Light Adult Food and it's been going really well (she should be eating only the adult food in just a few days). She weighs about 55 pounds and her vet said we should just try to maintain that weight, and he said the Science Diet Light Food should do the trick. My concern is that within the past couple of weeks I've noticed the size of her stools has increased. The consistency is fine (sorry to be so graphic!) but I've noticed that she's pooping more than she usually did. Is this something I should be worried about or is it just a result of her growing and being on an adult diet? Thanks for your help!

Answer
Why would you use a light food unless she is extremely overweight? There are much better dog food options than Science Diet. If your dog is in good weight, it doesn't need a light food at this age, perhaps as a senior.

I suggest getting her on a higher quality food like Innova or Eukanuba kibble, not wet food. I think you'll not only be happy with the way your dog looks but at the smaller, less frequent poop piles as well.
