Question
I just recently got a boxer from a friend of the family and I find her to be skinny, I feed her 3 times a day and she still wont gain any weight  what can I do?

Answer
You didn't mention her age.

If she appears skinny; ribs showing, hips showing, etc., she is skinny.

Feed her a high protein puppy food for now; preferably a natural one without corn and without corn gluten (Boxers are sensitive and allergic)...

Add 1 cup whole, plain yogurt to the dog food 4 times a day for a few weeks, but do feed her 4 times a day.

Offer her peanut butter to lick off your fingers as a treat a few times a day.

Make up a mixture for added nutrician and weight gain:

1 cup whole plain yogurt
1 raw egg
2 tablespoons peanut butter

Blend well in blender and add to dog food.

Let her snack on raw baby carrots as treats.

Also, you can cook some ground chicken or turkey meat (you can buy it at the grocery store and it comes in a roll, like sausage) and add cooked rice and cooked carrots, a little salt for flavoring, and mix it in her high protein dog food once or twice a day.

The object is more feeding, higher protein food, better foods, healthier foods, and this will add weight.

If she doesn't gain within 30 days, take her to the vet for a check up. She could have a thryroid disorder which causes the low weight.
