Question
QUESTION: Hi There,

I have a 3 yr old Boston that is just the happiest dog I have ever met. Anyway, she started limping 3 days ago and is favoring her right front leg. I have poked and proded her and not a sound comes out of her mouth. I am trying to keep her off her feet but she still insists on playing and running as normal. I had a Rottie that died from osteocarcanoma at 6 yrs old and that is all I can think is happening to my new baby.Right now I cannot afford a full set of x-rays or a MRI. Is bone cancer something that should concern me for my 3 yr old Boston? I should have some money for the vet no later than Monday but I just picture bone cancer in my head from past experiences. Please give me your opinion. Thank you, Anthony & my Boston,Haley

ANSWER: Hi Anthony and Haley!  Bostons are known to have joint problems.... I bet she jumped too much and has some inflammation in a joint.  I understand your concern about cancer.  YOUR Haley is young and I would think about a joint injury before cancer.

Would you like to try some supplements to help give strength to her hips and joints?
I can make a few suggestions on supplement powders and oils, too.

Let me know?

QUESTION: Hello Marie,

Thank you for your answer to my first question. Haley is very playful and runs and jumps all day long so if they are prone to joint injuries that makes me feel a lot better and makes sense. Please send me information on the supplements you mentioned. Powders would probably be better cause I can just mix it with her food. Can I give her any over the counter human anti inflamitory's to help her out or ibuprofin?

Hi - Yes, many Vets will offer Baby Aspirin (1) of an 81 mg for a temp period of time.
*aspirin can be harsh on the belly so give with food.  YOU can call your vet and ask about the 1 Baby aspirin suggestion... ( BAYER is a good brand)

Many of my Boston clients take 1 NuVET Plus wafer supplement per day -- or the powder.
NuVET powder is very YUM YUM good and you only need  1 teaspoon per day mixed into some wet food or even yogurt.  ( I like the Activia brand in the Van flavor)
YOU can call NuVET in the Morning at  1-800-474-7044  ( make sure they know you want the powder form of the NuVET Plus ....) Tell them them VET Nure Marie is working with you.
I believe the powder is 20.00 or 55.00 ( depend on the bottle size)
********** ask for the discount with order code 81098 *********

Also, Some olive oil ( PURE olive oil) VERY helpful...  Give just 1/2 of a teaspoon per day - long term, mix into his food.

NuVET is not sold in stores/  HOLISTIC / Natural and safe.
Here is my bulldog web site for NuVET

or the main NuVET site is here:

YOU are looking for NuVET Plus

HOPE this helps.... The oil and NuVET are easy and Safe...
Baby aspirin can be used short term for 3-5 days or Call your Vet for more instructions.
Please remember that I am not a vet...

BEST wishes
