Beagle w/zig-zag back

Cedar is 5 yrs old and is the best little girl we could hope for. She has a beautiful coat with a lot tan black fur down her back. The interesting thing is over the years the fur stated to make a perfect zig-zag down her spine approximately an 1-2 inches wide and the entire length of her back. It is quite obvious. Other beagles I have seen don't have this trait. In fact I've never seen another one like this. Is it strange or unusual? Can you please explain it to me?

Hi, I have to say that this one is a first. I have never heard of this before. DId you get Cedar as a puppy or have papers on her? If so you could trace this that way, otherwise I have no ideas. It isn't that unusual for the hair color or pattern to change a little bit from puppyhood to adulthood but this is moer than that it seems.

Have you ever asked your vet about it? I'm sorry but I am totally stumped on this one!
