Beagle pup - flea/tick preventative

Question

Me & Lilly at Puppy Sc I have an 8 month old beagle pup and I am concerned about using the oral flea/tick meds. I've never used flea/tick products on my 13 & 15 yr old beagles who are still very alive & kicking! I see you recommend Biospot. Have you used it for several years without problems?

Also I was told not to have my beagle sleep with me. My older gals always slept in their own beds however our new pup likes to sleep with us. Am I creating a monster?

Oh she is just adorable! Lucky you. Yes I have had very good luck with Biospot but I must tell you that I live in L.A., SO CAL and we have few problems with ticks, heartworms or other types of things. It is important for you to pick one that covers whatever is in your geographic area. Your vet should be able to recommend the best one for where you live

As far as having her sleep with you I personally love mine sleeping with me but there are others who will tell you it isnt good and will create a dominant dog. I havent had that problem. As long as you continue to be the Alpha and make sure she knows you are ALLOWING her to do so or be on the bed, in other words she shou;dnt go on the bed unless you invite her. Hope this is helpful
