Excessive drooling

Question
I have a 1yr old beagle and all of a sudden he just started drooling alot he has never done this before....I know they drool when they play but he is just laying on the couch and drooling alot I dont know whether to be concerned or if I am being over paranoid which I can be at times...he seems to eat ok and drink but the sudden onset of the drooling is what concerns me..

Hi thanks for writing to me. This is something to be concerned about and should be checked out by his vet if you really think it is excessive. It could be he is teething or it could mean he ate something he shouldnt have outside for instance. It is not normal for a dog to just be laying on the couch drooling so I would have the vet check him out if this persists more than one time.
