Question
Hello,
Our Vet has recommended that our 3 year old Beagle have her teeth cleaned.  Is this something that is common?  They say she will be put to sleep for the procedure (cost $65). Do you recommend this be done?
Thanks!!
Dan

Answer
ABSOULTELY!!! This is not only common but necessary if you want her to keep her teeth for a long time. It is not unusual to have to do it at about this age and again in a couple years and so on. Some dogs produce more tartar than others and need it even more often (I have one of those!) This is not just a cosmetic procedure...it will assure that she does not get any infections in her gums, abcesses or fractured teeth (from cavaties). $65 is an extremely reasonable price if that includes anesthesia etc. I have never paid less than $150 each time I have done it.

Your baby will thank you for it so go fo it!

Good luck!
