Walk the puppy outside

Question
HI Kenny,

I have a 13 weeks old beagle puppy. She had her shots at 8 (DHLP & Corona) and 11 weeks, her next shots are due the coming Saturday. When will it be safe to bring my puppy outside for a walk? I know my vet told me that I should wait until she finishs all her shots but I've already brought her to the puppy training class which only requires 2 sets of shots. I am guessing the vet is just playing at the safe side. What's your opinion?

Thanks a lot.
Amy

Answer
After the second set of shots your pup is partially protected. Most Vet's and professionals recommend not socializing your pup until two weeks after their third set of shots. That is when your pup is fully protected. Before then your pup is not fully protected and there is a risk. Your beagle doesn't need to be quarantined until then. You should be able to take your beagle for a walk but, limit her exposure to other dogs.
