beagle sleeping habits

we just got a 6 week old beagle he sleeps alot during the day for a little bit at a time usally. when were sleeping at night we doesn't sleep he wants to play. can you tell us how to get him use to sleeping at night insted of like 3 times a day?

I want to start off by apologizing for taking so long to answer your question I had to replace the hard drive in my computer and I was without a computer for a while not knowing how long it would take. He is a puppy and is going to sleep a lot regardless they usually don't sleep as much until they hit 7 months to a year. Play with him as much as you can during the day include walks, fetch, run anything to tire him out and make him sleep. Occasionl naps are ok, because they are just like toddlers they needs naps. He also sounds like he has his nights and days mixed up. A hour to a hour and a half before bedtime play with him a lot. Take him for a long walk, let him run, play with squeaky toys. Also beagles love noise if it is ok at night keep the television on or a radio. Try those things and please feel free and don't hesitate to come back and ask me anything else.
