9 wk old beagles, brother and sister

Question
I have two 9 week old beagles, brother and sister. They are play puppy fighting and our kids think its funny and cute.  It is kinda cute, but is it bad that we let them fight.  I don't want to think it's ok now and then the puppies think it's ok to be aggressive.  Should I be concerned?

I also want to know about potty training at night. We have a washroom that we are keeping the puppies in at night.  They are going both pee and poo on the newspaper and sleeping in one kennel together.  I was wondering if I should keep the kennel locked at night, so they don't think it's OK to come out at night and go potty on the floor. Or is it OK to allow them the space of the washroom?

Answer
Kevin, if the pups are just playing I would not be to concerned. Usually if one pup hurts the other he will let the other know and stop playing. If one pup does hurt the other one stop them. Their mother would stop them if she was there (if one hurts the other on purpose).
As for potty training at night, at 9 weeks a puppy can not hold it 8 hours (or in my case sometimes 6 hrs, sometimes 9). If the kennel was close to the bed and you could hear them and take them outside I would say you can keep the kennel closed (with them in it). But, if you will not be able to get up to take them outside at night it's best to leave the kennel open. Be sure to take them outside before you go to bed (even if you have to wake them up) and as soon as you get up in the am.
