Question
I have 2 female beagles.  Snickers who is 6 years old and her daughter Mekka who is 4 years old.  Snickers has always been protective over the trash (she will and does eat everything she can get) but lately she has started getting protective over my roommates little girl.  She will start growling and even go after Mekka but lately she has started doing this out of the blue for no apparent reason.  Both girls stay in 1 large crate during the day.  For the past 2 days Mikkea has not wanted to go into the crate and we are thinking that these little fights they are having is also happening in the day time.

Answer
Sorry for the delay, my system went down and I had no way to get online until now.

I agree with you that one crate is no longer a good idea, I would get a new one for one of them. In addition this is the start of aggression and should be immediately addressed with a trainer IN PERSON.... there is no way I can resolve this with you via email, it takes hands on. It is even more concerning that it is about the little girl which means she could inadvertently get hurt. Please.... call a local trainer ASAP, this is a serious problem!
