getting a beagle or not

Hi, I live in an apartment and work downstairs. I'm considering getting a beagle. The dog would be left on its own for maybe a two hour spell at a time. I frequently go to the apartment during the day. Is it fair on a beagle. Would a bitch or dog be best, pup or adult? Please advise.

I as well live in a apartment with my 2 year old beagle.  Its best to get them when they are young because you can teach them. As long as it gets proper play time outside and is trained. Beagles can be inside dogs but you have to worry about it barking and disturbing neighbors, but thats why if you get them early in age it will learn. I would say a female would be the best because they aren't as distructive. If you need anymore help or questions please ask me best wishes and good luck because they can be your best friend.
