Question
Dear Tabbi I have a 2yr old male cat that is Aggressive towards myself he has bit me an put me in the hospital due to infection. I have tried everything and im at my wits end.I do not know how to correct his behavior it seems like he has redirected aggression. he will attack me for no reason. I will be minding my business and he lounges at me breaks my skin. This is a multi cat household and my other cats have never displayed this kind of action. It is only with this particular one PLEASE PLEASE give me some advice to correct this and avoid further injury to myself
thank you Tonianne

Answer
Tonianne,

Sometimes a cat has mental problems stemming from heredity or experiences and will not change. As hard as it is to do, for the safety of yourself, your other cats, and for your piece of mind I would turn your cat into the local shelter or animal control and tell them about the cat's behavior. It may be an unsuspecting child that visits that the cat attacks and injures. And it wouldn't be fair to try to re-home him without telling anyone about his behavior because then another unsuspecting person may be injured. Cats are like people, there are unfortunately bad apples in the basket.
