female cat in heat

Dear Tabbi i have a female cat that has not been neutered yet and she goes into heat. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help her through this until she gets neutered. It bothers me to see her like this so if you have some advice please help.. Regarding the other question i asked about the male cat and his aggression he was revaluated and had his rabies shoots checked with the state and is ok I just want to correct his aggressive behavior I truly love him and do not want to get rid of him but this is going on to long Thank you Tonianne

About your female. The only way to help her is to get her spayed. It is miserable, annoying, and frustrating to deal with a female in heat. You can get a pet laser light and interactively play with her to try to get her mind off of it, and get some earplugs for yourself (smile).

There are a lot of low cost clinics that do spays inexpensively or free. Google Low Cost Spay (or similar wording) and put in the name of your city. You should find some in your area. If not, call a vet's office or the SPCA and see if they have a list. If a female keeps going into heat she can end up with a life-threatening uterine infection.  

I know you love your mean male, but you can love a loving cat as well as one that intentionally tries to hurt you. You are feeling with your heart and not your head. Not all cats are 'pussycats'.
