ear mites? sores?

Question
I have a bit of a problem cat.  She's almost two years old and for the last few months she's been scratching small sores right in front of her ears.  Not in her ears, but in front where the hair is really thin.  They wont go away, and she won't leave them alone.  I've been cleaning her ears regularly.  Just today I noticed that her one ear is quite dirty and has some sores inside.  Are these ear mites?  Is there any way to treat it without going to the vet?  Im a student and need to save money, although I realize that if there's no home remedy I will take her in.

Also, she wont stop biting and licking in between her toes on her hind paws.  Its always in between her two middle toes.  She licks them raw.
I appreciate any help!
Heather

i dont know of any home remedys.

about the toes, might be allergies, wash her back feet with some baby shampoo and warm water. if that doesnt help you will have to take her to the vet for alergy medication.
