Pecular question about my cat

Hello, I have a rather pecular question about my feline. My cat is about 15 years old he is a heinzs 57 (5 or 6 different breeds) hes my best friend!! for the past 3 or 3.5 years or so almost every night he watches me sleep VERY INTENTLY .  he will stare at me in the face for about 4.5 to 5 hours every night! Why does he do that?

Very interesting question. I'm afraid the only definitive way to get an answer would be to have an observer while you are sleeping and while he is watching you, though. I can theorize that maybe you do something mildly unusual in your sleep that fascinates him and he is waiting for it to happen. Do you snore, perhaps, or talk in your sleep? But I'm afraid that is the only thing I can think of.

Alternatively, if you are out of the house all day at work, he may just be telling you that you're home with him now, he slept all day, and he wants his quality time with you, so get the hell out of bed and play with me/feed me/cuddle me/otherwise indulge me/etc.

Sorry I can't give you anything more concrete.
