Hello, I rescued my male black part siamese from a protection league 2 months ago.His name is Jagger and he is quite a handful!! My question is..I'm woken up every night by his"loving" me.I get kisses, my head kneaded(ouch)licked and tongued in my ear while he purrs at high speed! I'm just wondering what he's telling me?Thanks in advance! SilvieD

Hello!  What he's telling you is, he's lonely!  Cats are nocturnal creatures that are, by nature, most active at night.  While they're awake and you're asleep, they may become bored or lonely.

You can usually conform a cat to your sleep pattern by playing with him for a good half hour before you go to bed.  Then, feed him a full meal.  The course of a cat's day typically goes - hunt (play), eat, groom, and then sleep.  If you start getting him to play before bedtime, and then give him a full belly, he should settle down and groom quietly, and then sleep a good portion of the night away.

When your kitty wakes you up, shut him out of the room.  You might have to deal with some meowing if he is as talkative as most Siamese.  If it's too bothersome, keep him closed in a room away from your bedroom, with toys, food, litter, and water.  Most cats learn surprisingly quickly that they need to be still while you sleep if they want the priviledge of sharing your bed.

:o)  That's another endearing trait of Siamese and Siamese mixes.  They usually choose ONE person to become attached to, and that person is the be all and end all as far as they are concerned.  They'll follow you around like a lost puppy, even ride around on your shoulder if you let them.  It seems clear to me that you are his chosen one.  Sorry!  I think you're stuck with this one!
