Hair loss of cats

Question
My blue russian cat is losing all her hair.  She gets some bald spots all over her body.  She runs around outside.  So does my other cat and she is perfectly fine.  Nothing wrong with her.  Can you please tell me why my cat is losing all her hair and what I can do to help her? I'm afraid I can't help you much as this could be all sorts of different things, and most of them require a vet's help to treat. You should get her in to a vet as soon as possible as this could eventually spread to your other cat. There are even some skin infections that can spread from cats to humans, so you need to do this for your own sake as well.

I am hoping it isn't a fungal infection -- given the time of year, that seems to me the most likely as they happen a lot in the spring.  But if it is, it is not going to go away and you simply can't address it yourself.
