Question
hi there well my little female cat is aprox 6 years old and was spayed when igot her she`s not chipped or had a collar on
she went missing now 48hrs which is not like her in the least, as i`m on nights the nights she is out she is sitting waiting for me either wanting to be in or wanting to be out, but this time after coming home at 6am and the nights starting to get cold she hasnt turned up

i`ve rang the council and the vets left my info with them all
walked the streets where i know she hangs about (around the corner) done this morning and night called her name etc no meow`s from her which i would know its her if i heard her even without seeing her

i`ve had her now for 3 years i live on my own and spoil her rotten so no kids etc to tease her when at home

no dogs where i live a few cats ,

i`ve left my kitchen window open incase she decides to come home so she can jump in the house with fresh food and water

i`m starting to get worried , any help pls would be great , ps its starting to get cold outside now call me soft but i`m thinking of my cat (she is so tiny and so very soft and scared of everything)

hope you can help with some advice

thanks a lot

Answer
Hi Richie,
I don't know if you live in the UK or not. if you do it is worth putting your cats details on the national missing pet register http://www.nationalpetregister.org thats how my sister found her cat again.
You have done all the right things contacting the vets and council, you could also put up some posters on lamp posts. Also ask your neighbours to check their sheds and garages in case she has got in somewhere and can't get out.
As a word of comfort. My cat went missing fro threes days once and came home all by herself and my sisters cat went missing for 9 days and she got him back, so do not worry too much at the moment. cats are very intelligent creatures and they will find somewhere warm in cold weather, in fact maybe thats what happened when she was waiting for you, she got too cold and went off looking for somewhere warm and just wandered further than normal. perhaps you should put a kennel outside for her in future so she has somewhere warm to wait for you. there are some great ones here /cat-houses.html
When she comes home, i would suggest a name collar and chipping as a safety precaution for the future.

I hope you have her back soon.
