Question
well my kitten, who's a two month old male and hasn't been declawed or neutered yet, has or had fleas. i found two fleas on him. i sprayed this flea and tick spray on him. and i got really scared cause he started shaking and producing a lot of saliva. it says on the bottle the symptons of the spray is salivation caused by cholinergic. but even though it said that i was really scared for him and i was watching him and he shaked his head like really fast as if he was trying to bite his ears. if he has these syptoms should i keep using this spray or stop. and if i stop what should i do to keep the fleas off.

Answer
Hi Michelle,

Is the flea spray that you are using kitten-safe? I would suggest that you bring it to a vet for treatment. Due to its young age, the flea spray could be too strong for it.

Shaking is normal because the fleas was struggling after you sprayed on it.

Use a flea comb to comb out the fleas after a while.

To keep the fleas off, clean the area that the kitten go thoroughly and keep the kitten indoor. You can use the flea shampoo once a month as a preventive measure.
