Kitten aggression?

20 16:40:52

Question
I have a new kitten that we found at about four weeks old.  He has been to the vet for a check-up, but has had no shots except for worms.

The question is about his recent aggressive behavior.  I was thinking that it was because he is left alone for so long (while I'm at work).  I was wondering how I could influence better behavior...or if there may be other factors.
His biting is getting harder as his jaw gets stronger.

Thanks in advance,
A concerned "mom".

Answer
Hello Cuban!

Sometimes kittens can get a little rough, and yes their teeth are very sharp!!  Some of it may be because he is alone all day and believe it or not, the aggression is probably his way of showing love.  Kittens are often very rough with one another, and they will bite each other playfully.  I think I would firmly tap him on the nose and say NO when he does it.  Let him know it is unacceptable, but.. don't spank him, as cats do not respond to this like dogs do.   You may want to consider getting another kitten as a playmate.  Two cats are much better than one!  They will not only play together, but will groom each other and cuddle together.  That's just a thought....

God Bless,
