ADULT CAT SEEMS TO BE VERY CLINGY AT NIGHT

DEAR KAREN:
MY CAT IS APPROX 14 YRS OLD - I HAVE HAD HER SINCE HER ADOPTION AT 6 WEEKS OLD FROM MSPCA.
SHE SEEMS TO BE VERY CLINGY AT NIGHT, SLEEPING ON ME, CLOSE TO ME, SEEMS LIKE 75% OF THE TIME SHE NEEDS TO BE TOUCHING ME.
IS THIS A SIGN OF SOME SORT, OR THAT SHE IS COLD?
SHE HAS BEEN A VERY LOVING CAT OVER THE YEARS SO THIS ISN'T REALLY A HUGE PROBLEM, JUST WONDERING IF MAYBE SHE IS SICK AND NEEDS TO BE CLOSE TO ME?

Hi Maureen,

I have an older cat who acts just like this. Part of it that she is older and more mellow. You have a good bond with her. She enjoys being touched.  And the other part, you got right, is that she is seeking you out for extra warmth.
If she was sick it would come out in other ways. She most likely wouldn't want to be touched.
