abandoned Newborn Kitten

My cat had 3 kittens 2 of which died but the surviving one we moved to a heated polebarn and put the mama in there. The mom cat was fine she stayed with the baby and fed it but this morning when we checked on them she was gone the baby alone was just a day old now and there was blood around the box and on the blankets in the box. we still cant find the mom and the baby is not bleeding and doing fine but we need to feed the baby can you tell us how to take care of this newborn kitten? NOW!!!!!!!! please help

Hi Nicholl and Brittany, Well the first thing you need to do id get the kitten inside and get her onto a heating pad. Turn it on low.. not too hot. Then you will need to give the kitten a little sugar water. Mix water half and half and give it to her with a syringe or bottle. She should take about 4 mls(ccs) and then 1 hour later try her with some kitten milk. You can buy replacement kitten milk at the pet food store. Try to get about 2 mls of milk down her every hour for today and try to get the sugar water down her twice a day for today. You will also need to use a wet warm paper towel to massage her genitals to get her to urinate and pass stools. This is very important and should be done every time you feed her ! Write back and let me know how things are going today and then I can give you some more instructions.
