Himalayan grooming needs.

Hi, I was told that himalayan cats need to be groomed every day and if this grooming is not done then their fur will quickly matt, I do this with my cat but I am planning to go away for a weekend which means my cat will miss 1 or 2 days of grooming, will this cause matting? whats the longest you can go without grooming a himalayan?. thanx

Yes, Himalayan cats SHOULD be groomed everyday for optimal looks and reduction of matting.  However, if you go a couple of days, it might be a little more difficult to get through the fur, but it should be ok.    I'd suggest no longer than 5 days without at LEAST running a comb through your cat's fur for a Himalayan kitty.
