I am trying to raise an orphaned kitten

Question
The kitten was about 3 weeks old when I found her under my moms insulation under their tailor, there were no other kittens so I took him out of the insulation brought him to a vet, and they gave me a good chance of survival, so long as I feed it and do the things right, well ok, I thought I could find out how to do it, I was wrong, the poor little guy will pee for me, and poop, but he has started getting really bad yellow diarrhea and I have had to buy a new type of formula after it decided to stop eating the KMR powder.  It eats the newborn formula, but is this the problem?  He is roughly one pound, and I'm not sure I'm feeding him right, or maybe its too rich, ANY help would be greatly appreciated, I have 4 other cats and they are fine with him, but when I clean him and he poops they run away.

Answer
Hi Sean, It sounds like you are doing ok. Kittens will usually have that soft yellow stool when they are being fed milk replacer. So, that was ok... It is better for a kitten to have loose stools then to have hard ones. How long have you been caring for him? Is it just recent that you got him? AND one pound is a pretty good weight !! I think you are doing well with him!! As long as the kitten is drinking quite a bit of formula, either the KMR OR the newborn formula milk then he should be ok. If he is quite alert and active you can even try a little baby food from a jar. Get the baby food that is meat only either beef or chicken and give him about a teaspoon of it each time he gets the bottle. Not too much... just a teaspoon. He should still mostly be drinking milk as he is quite young !
Keep up the good work. I don't know why your other cats run away when you are cleaning him...?? but I don't think it is anything to be concerned about !
