cat food/dog food

Question
I know cats need alot meat in their food.  Would there be a problem of mixing the two?  Money's short and cat food $$$ and I can feed more mixing them.

I would not mix them.  Cats are obligate carnivores, so must get all their protein from meat.  Dogs, on the other hand, can get their protein from meat and other sources, so it would not be a good idea mixing the two.  In addition, many cats are allergic to things dogs may not be, so this could create problems (like overgrooming), down the road.  In particular, many cats are allergic to wheat, corn and soy.
