Cat just got neutered

Question
My 7 month old cat just got neutered today, and before he left the vets office, they gave him a shot that would help with the pain. its been about 3 hours since we picked him up, and whenever i pet him, he starts shaking. Is this the medicine wearing off, or could it possibly be a reaction to the medicine (The stitches are still in tact)?

Hi Danielle,

This is the effect of the anaesthesia wearing off. Keep him warm and quiet. I would keep him in the cat carrier you used. Put him in it in a warm quiet area. Check on him every half hour or so. He most likely will sleep for a few hours. Give him food and water later when he seems alert. Good luck.
