2 yr old cat no eating much

Hi! My 2 year old cat is not eating much. Her normal routine is a bowl of Innova dry food (that she munches on throughout the day) and a 1/2 of can of wet food at night.

I am a flight attendant, so I am out for 4 day and back for 3 days. The neighbor feeds my cat when I am not home.

My cat, Sierra, normally goes through a full bowl of dry food every 24 hours, but I noticed last week that she didn't touch much of her bowl. It was a new bag of dry food (same brand), so I replace the bag (same brand) at the pet store and she refused to eat it. She is still eating her wet food as usual. But I am worried because she only eats the gravy from the wet food, sometimes she will actually eat the food, too. This is her normal way of eating the wet food. It's the dry that is different.

Her behavior is normal. She plays like normal. I don't see anything outwardly physically wrong. I did find a little plastic in her poop when I scooped it out. But no other signs that it may be an ailment.

Do you think it is just the food. Maybe she wants something else to eat.

I appreciate any suggestions.

The plastic that you have found in her poop could mean that there is something more in her bowel that has not passed. The lack of appetite so suddenly means that there very well could be something wrong. Your cat needs to see a vet immediately. She potentially could need surgery and I am not sure how long her appetite has been lacking, but inappetance is a very serious symptom in cats. Your vet will need to know about the plastic in the poop. Good luck and keep me posted to let me know how your cat is doing.
