I understand that you're not a vet.....my cat (around 7 yrs old) has suddenly dropped weight, her coat is very oily and she smells horrible!  any ideas?  We have a vet appt. in two days.

No, as it can be a number of possibilities..  At least you have a vet appointment!!!!! It sounds as if she has a viral or bacterial intestinal tract problem, but that is a wild guess on my part!

Please let me know what your vet finds out.
